| Job Title - Development & Design Engineer Job profile Prepare preliminary and detailed design calculations including FEM, thermodynamic calculations and others Prepare technical documents such as reports, drawings, bill of material, technical specification for compressor assemblies and parts When necessary work on design requests for standard and special compressors Evaluate technical issues and operation problems in existing machines and new product deployment Investigate behaviour of Solid Material and Fluid behaviour for use in new and existing products Investigate new compressor designs Evaluate proposed modifications for existing compressors When required propose special testing Investigate development and design study requests Assume role of "problem owner" for specific product development assignments Contribute to modification process and research projects Company Information Our client is a leading engineering, design and manufacturing company operating in Glasgow Experience & Qualifications HNC level or equivalent in an engineering discipline Degree in a suitable engineering discipline preferred In-depth understanding of design processes and specification systems Proven track record in preparing and integrating technical drawings, particularly as regards tolerances of form and position Technical competence and demonstrable knowledge of compressor technology General knowledge of rotating equipment, pressure vessels, refrigeration/gas systems and relevant international standards Fair knowledge of solid mechanics, thermodynamics Fluent in the use 3D Design Tools such as AutoCAD/Inventor/ProEngineer and the use of FEM and CFD tools Fair use of programming languages Fortran, C++, Visual Basic, Java Willingness to work in teams and lead small group of designer Location: Glasgow Salary: Neg Apply online! : dcumming@fpsg.co.uk Contact Details Contact Name:Dave Cumming Direct Dial:0141 270 5007 |
