| Capacity Planning Analyst Location: Glasgow Salary: £ negotiable with experience Benefits Package: Excellent Reporting to: Team Lead THE COMPANY Our client is global organisation with a large presence in the UK. THE ROLE The Capacity Planning Analyst is responsible for the matching of hardware, software, network and overall system capability and capacity to meet current and predicted requirements for Information system services in a cost effective manner. The analyst through use of System software should trend and model the IT systems and ensure the scalability of systems can be met through in depth knowledge of the hardware and software configurations. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: In-depth experience of BMC software capacity / performance tools or experience of similar toolsets from other vendors. A technical understanding or experience of at least 3 of the following platforms - IBM zSeries, IBM pSeries, IBM iSeries, Sun Solaris, HP NonStop or Windows. Building effective relationships with IT colleagues, customers, and suppliers. Predicting IT system resource requirements based on future Business requirements. Identifying key business drivers for capacity on each Service. Capacity Management methodologies and techniques. Providing capacity Plans for key identified platforms and services according to published reporting schedule. Use of capacity and performance data collection tools. Provision of expertise and technical assurance for key system components to support costing efforts and to ensure integrity of design. Experience in the design, monitoring and analysis of performance testing. Identification and evaluation of products, tools, techniques and methods.
