Job Description
Systems Engineer
Thales requires an experienced Systems Engineer to perform the systems engineering of complex electro-optical systems. This role will work across a number of key areas within the business and provide vital systems engineering support. You will work closely with both the Engineering Manager and the Programme Managers on a variety of projects.
Thales Land Defence Division provides a complete range of optronic products, systems and services to government and commercial customers across the globe. We have a presence on all the major international defence programmes, providing key detection and surveillance solutions and support to air, naval and land forces.
The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Perform the systems engineering and technical leadership of complex electro-optical systems that have significant electronic, software, mechanical and optical content.
- Working with architects to provide system solutions on projects, and then working closely with the mechanical, hardware, optical, firmware and software engineers, and take this architecture through the implementation, integration, verification and validation phases of the product life cycle.
As the ideal candidate you will most likely have experience in integrating large, diverse, high technology systems. Experience with DOORS will also be looked on favourably.
This job requires good interpersonal, written and communication skills. You will have the gravitas to achieve buy-in and influence decision making. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience in Systems Engineering.
