Do you hold a CEng, MICE or MIStructE qualification? Are you a highly skilled engineer capable of providing sound technical skills across the full range of activities carried out by the discipline? Can you provide specialist skills and be able to converse at a high technical level with clients and offer specialist advice when necessary? We are looking for a Principal Assessment Engineer to work for a rail company in Glasgow.
Duties include:
Provide the team with expert guidance on best methods and practice to meet technical and project requirements
Monitor relevant technical aspects of quality plan. Report variances and suggestions for correction actions.
Assist Business Development Team with expert input on specialist technical matters for bid submissions and expressions of interest.
Keep up to date with industry best practice and where appropriate roll this out to the team
Evaluate specialist software packages and where appropriate recommend those which would benefit the operation.
Liaise with clients and ensure their requirements are effectively communicated to the team
Provide input into project quality plan
Advise on procedural requirements
Implement company quality procedures on all projects
Review project performance and where necessary recommend new practices to improve efficiency
Develop, coach and motivate team members.
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental and other appropriate regulations
To undertaken any other reasonable task as requested.
You will have the ability to sign-off assessment reports and recommend further actions to our clients and be capable of mentoring less experienced engineers.
